Have you come for adventures in yonder land of Taris? Wait, I haven’t actually been involved in the various tests; does Tarisland actually feature a land of Taris? Let me know in the comments while you rejoice that the game is launching on June 21st, when presumably I could find out if there’s a Taris or not. I won’t, but I could. I have something else to be doing around that time. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
That something else will not be playing Corepunk, but people are able to play it now… theoretically, until June 3rd. There have been issues. At least those issues aren’t going to overlap with World of Warcraft starting its beta for its next expansion on June 5th (theoretically) or MultiVersus really going into launch (no more do-overs) this time.
So now is that part of the weekly column wherein I point you to our list of stories from this week and you read it and then we have our full list of games in testing below that, I thank you for letting us know if something slipped into another test phase. Going to be honest with you, folks, last week had so many sand-related jokes to make that this week just feels kind of whatever. I can’t talk about sand and my cats are bugging me. But do check out those lists below all the same!

We consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s often under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed, nor will games that are NFT/blockchain scams; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions. Finally, we’ll mark games “malingering” if they’ve been in a certain tier of development for a long time with no clear path to launch.

Yes, MMO gamers, you too can perform the unpaid quality-control work otherwise known as game testing! Check out Massively Overpowered’s Betawatch every week for a run-down of MMOs that are still on the road to launch, even if they appear to have set up a permanent residence in a shed called early access.
